I was born in the Eternal City, the Athens of the North, the Paris of Lancashire-Bolton, in 1960 AD.

After school and university , I started as a freelancer in 1986, and built up  a portfolio illustrating  for the financial , legal and business press based in the City of London. This still forms the core of my work and a regular slot on Newropeans Magazine based in Paris allows me a political/editorial outlet.

I work traditionally  like cartoonists of yore , in pen , ink and wash. The images are scanned and emailed to my clients wherever they may be in this world, or others .  For commissioned  cartoons I work with  my editors and produce several rough ideas per theme or collaborate with writers on comic strips. Either  way, it is  a collaborative effort and it's important to me  to be able to take direction from my client, so that specialist articles are given the right sideways treatment. So, I can offer twenty years' experience in meeting deadlines and confidently producing reliable stuff.

I am inspired by History, mythology, the iconography of a devout lapsed Catholic, and generally  paradoxes of the human predicament. I have no particular political or ideological axe to grind; I am a cartoonist not a propagandist.

Despite all, I retain faith and optimism in my fellow man.....no not really ,I made that bit up.

I have shipped out of the Eternal City and moved to Warsaw , the Bolton of the East.
